Police clearance certificate
It usually takes up to 3-5 weeks to obtain Police clearance certificate (Certificate of no criminal record). The Certificate is issued in English by the Consulate after getting Information from Ministry of Internal Affairs and does not require apostille. The certificate is free of charge.
To obtain a Police clearance certificate you should submit to the Consular section of the Embassy the following documents (if you visit in person):
- Application for obtaining Police clearance certificate;
- Current passport;
- Copy of Russian visa (and/or copy of a document with address in Russia – migration card);
- Self-addressed return envelope (if you’d like to receive it by post).
If someone apply by post the following documents are required:
- Application, signature on the application must be witnessed either by a Notary Public or by a Justice of the Peace;
- Certified copy of your passport page with your photo and personal details (must be certified either by a Notary Public or by a Justice of the Peace);
- Copy of Russian visa (and/or copy of a document with address in Russia – migration card);
- Self-addressed envelope (if you’d like to receive it by post).
